Building Information Modelling (BIM)
About BIM
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a collaborative way of working using one digital system of computer models rather than stand alone sets of drawings and product specifications. BIM embeds key product and asset data and a 3 dimensional computer model that can be used for effective management of information throughout a project lifecycle – from concept to completion.BIM processes are applicable to both new buildings/infrastructure and to ‘retrofit’ and ‘refurbishment’ projects. It offers potential savings in cost and time through greater accuracy in estimation and project specification.
In line with recent UK Government Strategy that all centrally funded work undertaken by consulting designers and engineers must work within the BIM environment, DANLERS Limited have issued BIM files for some of their key products.

DANLERS BIM product files are available in the following formats:BIM object | IFC Files (.ifc) |
BIM product database | Microsoft Excel |
BIM outline drawing | JPEG |
The Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) data model is intended to describe building and construction industry data. It is a platform neutral, open file format specification that is not controlled by a single vendor or group of vendors.
For further information on importing/opening IFC files into your project please refer to your software guide eg. Autodesk Revit.
